Paved Road and a Dishwasher or What I'm Going to be When I Grow Up...

I always kid around that I'm going to school for a paved road and a dishwasher. While that isn't completely true I do know that things will be a lot easier once we have two incomes. I have been back at school for a little over three years now, which is crazy. When I started going back to school in 2010 I only took one class and sincerely hoped I would pass. I did better than pass I got an A, the next semester I went full-time and got all A’s and that is how this journey to becoming a scientist began. I haven't received all A’s (33-A's 2-B's, and 1-C) but I have done fairly well in some very difficult classes.

It still feels like I have a long road ahead of me but I often forget how far I have come. I am not listing all of my classes to brag or show how many classes I have taken, I am writing this so when I get overwhelmed with school over the next two semesters I can look back and see how far I have come and what I have made it through already. So here is what I have been up to and what I will plan to accomplish if everything goes as planned.

So there you have it, it makes sense why I have been busy and when I look at it this way I realize how much progress I have made. Next up is the Fall 2013 semester and trying to find a hospital lab to volunteer at.

In December I will apply for a space in the internship program at Bayfront Medical or Tampa General Hospital where I will spend 40 hours a week for 50 weeks becoming a Medical Laboratory Scientist. My only concern is that this is a very competitive program and they only allow 5-6 USF students in a year. I'm going to enjoy the next few weeks I have off and then it will be nose to the grindstone time.

*I believe I have listed all of the classes that I have taken over the last three years if not they were classes that fell through and don't count towards my intended degree.
